August 2020 Motivational Mondays

Here's a recap of August motivational Mondays!

August 3rd, 2020

Good morning SWP!

“It’s okay to be a glowstick; sometimes we have to break before we shine.” – Jadah Sellner

Some of our biggest struggles lead to the biggest opportunities for growth. Be resilient during tough times, as our adversities often prepare us for greater things to come #MotivationalMonday

Good afternoon SWP!

“Work for a cause, not for applause. Live life to express, not to impress. Don’t strive to make your presence noticed, just make your absence felt.” -Unknown

When you act to gain the approval of others, you’ll often end up disappointed. When you pursue your genuine interests and passions, you’ll be self-fulfilled, achieve more and have a greater impact. #MotivationalMonday

”Blessed are the cracked, for they shall let in the light.” - Groucho Marx

This statement can be interpreted in several ways. One can become ‘cracked’ physically, mentally, or emotionally. However, as Groucho says, this a great opportunity to let in the light and let it guide us to a better version of ourselves. Being cracked isn’t a sign of weakness, it’s a sign of being human. Use this week to let the light show you where you can improve in all aspects of your life.

I want to say thank you to Ahmaya for letting me take part in #MotivationalMonday. I hope all of you have an amazing week and you continue to strive for greatness.

I can’t change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination. – Jimmy Dean

While I did not expect to be quoting the Sausage King, Jimmy Dean, when I was asked to write the Motivational Monday post this week, I found myself “tacking my sailboat,” metaphorically of course. Covid came with the wind, creating chaos and challenges that we quickly adjusted our sails towards creating a “new normal” of social distancing, distance learning, work from home, and PPE so that we could reach our destinations of pharmacy school, work, Kappa Psi, and our family/friends while remaining healthy. This fall, as Recruitment and Pledging Kappa Psi is upon us, we will once again adjust our sails by recruiting and pledging potential brothers virtually to reach our destination of initiation. Knowing SWP is Kappa Psi Strong, I have no doubt the Brothers of SWP will persevere through collaboration and thinking outside the box to create fun, informative, and engaging virtual recruiting/pledging activities that support the 4 pillars of Kappa Psi. We cannot change Covid, at least until there is a vaccine, but we will adjust and continue to make an Impact!

Thank You Ahmaya for asking me to participate in this weeks #MotivationalMonday. PTBYB!
